The Park Wolfpack and Woodbury Royals faced off on a close conference rivalry game last Tuesday evening at Park High School.
The two teams compete in the Suburban East Conference. Last year, Woodbury (11-4-0) was seeded 5th in the conference, and Park (5-10-0) held the 9th seed spot.
When the two teams faced off last year, on May 13, the Woodbury Royals had a huge victory with a final score of 22-2 over the Wolfpack.
This year, the Wolfpack would get their revenge. The final score of the game was 9-7, with the Wolfpack victorious this time around. Woodbury came out strong, scoring 4 goals in the first quarter. The Wolfpack, would finish strong to win the game with 3 goals in the third and fourth quarters of the game.
Bradley Johnson, #3, would lead the scoring for Park. Johnson tallied 5 goals for the evening. Zachary Devaan, #5, had 2 goals, Samuel Reckinger, #6, and Jacob Czarnota, #22 each had 1 goal. The Wolfpack scored their 9 goals off a total of 15 shots.
Quinn Olson, #2, Sam Sanchez, #3, and Carter Nelson, #6, all got 2 goals for the Royals. Brecken Worwa, #1 got one goal and one assist in the game.
Honorable Mention Game
The Centennial boys lacrosse team defeated Northwest Suburban Conference competitor Champlin Park 8-7 in a close game on Wednesday, April 16.
