Boys Lacrosse Game of the Week: Week 3

On Saturday, April 26, two private schools in Minnesota faced off for a close competition. Hill-Murray and Cretin Derham Hall (CDH) played at Cretin Derham Hall in St. Paul.

The Hill-Murray Pioneers scored 3 goals in the first three quarters of the game, showing great consistency on offense. Overall in the game, the Pioneers scored 10 goals off of 18 shots on goal.

The CDH Raiders put up a good fight. The Raiders led in the first quarter 4-3. The Raiders would score one less goal than the Pioneers, with 9 goals total.

Emmett Johnson led the Pioneers on the scoresheet with a hat trick in the game. Jackson Murphy and Nicolas Myhre each scored 2 goals. Anthony Millet, Cooper Yegge, and Jake Godbout each scored a goal for the Pioneers. Goalie Grant Hennen played one half of the game and had a 60% save percentage, and Evan Wendorf played the other half of the game and had a 58.3% save percentage. Both goalies helped lead their team to victory.

Austin Novotny led the Raiders scoring 4 goals in the game. Danny Runyon had two goals to add to the scoresheet. Mikey Haider, David LeClaire, and Nate Chorlton all had one goal. Chorlton also had 4 assists in the game for a total of 5 points.

Hill-Murray remains undefeated (6-0-0) for the season and holds the top spot in the Metro East Conference.

Honorable Mention Game

On Thursday, April 24, the Stillwater Ponies and White Bear Lake Bears faced off in a fierce Suburban East Conference battle.

The Ponies won the game 12-10, holding their top spot in the Suburban East. The White Bear Lake Bears are currently holding the 4th place spot in the conference.

The Ponies currently have a record of 7-0-0.
