Girls Lacrosse Game of the Week: Week 4

The Brainerd Warriors and Moorhead Spuds faced off last week, on April 30, in a close competition at Brainerd High School.

The score remained close through the entire game, with the score starting out with Brainerd 4 – Moorhead 2. By half time, the Warriors held the lead with a score of 7-5.

Neither team would score in the 3rd quarter, leaving the score the same as at half time. Moorhead scored 1 goal in the 4th quarter, with Brainerd scoring 2 goals, for a final score of 9-6 for the Warrior win.

Top contributors for the Warriors included junior Ellen Germundson #11, with 4 goals in the game. The next highest scorer for the game against Moorhead was senior Madeline Mauer who met 100 career goals during the game after scoring 3 goals on Moorhead. Head Coach Mata Agre named Mauer and Germundson Players of the Game. Quinn Carlson and Avery Vagts each scored a goal, and Vagts earned an assist to a total of 2 points. Goalie Grace Fredrickson had a 65% save percentage to finish the game.

Reese Astrup was the top goal scorer for the Spuds with 5 out of the 6 goals for the game. Astrup also had 1GB and 2FT. Tenley Tollerud was the next contributor for Moorhead (1G, 4GB, 1FT). Goalie Lake Parr had a 74% save percentage after facing 31 shots on goal from the Warriors.

The Brainerd Warriors are currently 7-0, leaving them as one of the few undefeated teams in the league.
